Blessing of a Baby

Nate and Emily Walter now have a healthy boy. They had always wanted a baby and didn't fully understand why that wasn't happening. After many years passing and hope distinguishing it finally happened, in spite of what doctor's believed was not possible. I know I don't speak alone when I say, I believe this birth was a special blessing from above. Emily sent me an email of his most recent news -
Today we blessed our new little boy, Trace Owen Walter. We dressed him all in white, including a little, white tie, wrapped him up in a white blanket and made our way to the church house. Arriving early, which does not happen very often (okay, it never happens), we were happy to see familiar faces of family members who were able to come and support us on this special occasion. With an inexperienced new mom and a nervous dad, Trace did rather well. With no grouchy faces, no whining sounds, and no tears he was on his best behavior! Minus a few bodily noises that can’t be helped! Even as he made his way to front of the chapel and lay surrounded by men, he did not make a peep. My guess is he was wide eyed and curious like usual, too busy for tears. With the power of the Priesthood his dad gave him a name that he will be known by while on this earth followed by a beautiful blessing. Trace seemed to know it was his special day and he took it for what it’s worth! He slept through the rest of sacrament and then later enjoyed every minute of all the attention he received from family and friends. His mom and dad could have not have wished for a better day! We are so grateful to have received this little blessing into our lives. Now that he is here we can’t imagine life without him.
