Brian Goodman has been working towards getting to the next chapter in his life and a land mark was met in July when he left his job for med school...
Leaving University of Phoenix after five years was a bitter sweet event. Leaving meant the end of paid employment for close to a decade but it also meant the entering of a new phase in life, a phase that I have been working towards for several years. While the financial impact has not settled in yet, the workload has really been a shocker. I was expecting the workload to be heavy but saying the load is heavy is a major understatement. I have found that to keep up I am usually studying about 35+ hours per week on top of the 40 hours of lecture and lab each week. I am having the time of my life and am actually learning! I will conduct my first real patient exam in three weeks and am excited to keep learning.
It has been inspiring to see him work so hard and his family there supporting him every step of the way. He is going to make a great doctor!
